The Way We Were That Day
Astoria Park, Spring 2025
Time moves so fast — sometimes too fast. I’m someone who loves to look back at old photos, not just for the faces, but for the feeling. The light, the air, the way someone tilted their head when they laughed. This series is my attempt to pause time for others, the way I’ve always tried to do for myself.
I brought Michael along with me to help capture these portraits during the Astoria Carnival — friends curled up on blankets, couples hand-in-hand, kids with cotton candy smiles. No styling, no staging, just people as they were in that one fleeting moment.
We didn’t ask for anything more than their time, their presence, and their trust.
These images are a snapshot of togetherness — of softness, spontaneity, and the kind of joy you don’t realize is rare until you’re looking at it years later.
This is The Way We Were That Day.
A love letter to memory, and to everyone who said yes to being seen.
